Escape to Warmer Weather (Escape to Margaritaville on Broadway)

We are officially into the spring part of the current season on Broadway where shows are starting
previews in order to open before the deadline for award season for 2017-2018. Now I’m not a huge
fan of going to see shows in previews because they continue to make changes in the show all the
way up to opening night, so you’re not getting the “frozen show” meaning there are no more changes
made to the show. However, with my mom in town and we realized that Escape to Margaritaville
was actually starting previews her first night in town, she expressed how much she wanted to see
the show compared to seeing Phantom or Once On This Island, which were the shows I was pushing
for to choose between for a Monday night show. I wouldn’t say she’s a Parrothead (the
nickname for Jimmy Buffet fans), but she does enjoy his music and is a huge fan of the beach, so
she wanted to see a more light and fun show that was set at the beach.

Hello Bernadette! (Hello Dolly! on Broadway)

First things first. On February 19, 2018 at 3pm, I was blessed to be in the presence of Queen Bernadette
Peters and Victor Garber. I’m still dead almost a month later. To be able to watch these two amazing
actors and performers on stage was an experience I will never forget and it’s moments like this that
remind me how amazing it is to live in this city.

Broadway’s new season has officially kicked off! I’m so excited about this because I’ve never been in the city when the new season starts and have to try to fight with tickets. After reading the chat board on Broadwayworld.com and seeing reviews from the off-broadway run, I knew I had to rush it as soon as possible before it turns into a potential Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton, where tickets are impossible to get and I have to enter (and lose) the lottery every day.

My Gap Year

Gap year. This is a phrase most people don’t want to hear. Most will not even want to consider taking one as a possibility. I know I didn’t. So how did I end up taking a gap year after finding out I was accepted into two physical therapy schools? How did it end up changing my life and being one of the best things to ever happen to me? Let’s go back to the end of my senior year of college.

Beauty Products - Laneige

IMG_9844

I have never had clear face problems until I was matched up against the high winds on New York City. I’ve never been the person to have to clean my face regularly and wear face makeup, as my skin has always been clear. But in March 2017, I was in the city during Snow Storm Stella and by the time I left, I had broken out all over my face. I knew when I moved up here that I would need to find a product that will help brace my skin against the cold temperatures and high winds.

My friends have used these products and they gave me a sample bag and I love it. For me, the true test was this past week with the bomb cyclone and the high winds the next day and I did not break out at all. That’s when I knew this product would work for me.

NYCB Romeo & Juliet

These next few posts from me are going to be about the activities and shows my mom and I participated in while she was in town for the President’s Day holiday weekend. On February 17, my mom and I went to see a Saturday evening performance of Romeo & Juliet. We were so excited to see this ballet because it is my mom’s favorite ballet and Tiler Peck was performing the role of Juliet. This production was choreographed by Peter Martins and is not the choreography that most are used to. But more about that later. Let me tell you about our experience at the David H. Koch Theatre.

Happy Friday y’all. First off I would like to thank Kiki for coming up with this awesome title for this post. I love my friends for helping me come up with creative ideas. Second, this is a little frightening for me because this is my first post heading into fashion blogging. This is out of my comfort zone, but I feel like I can hopefully inspire people of a more average size that they can be just as fashionable as those who are a size small and x-small.
