Dear New York City,
It's been a month since I left you to go back to the South to wait out the stay at home order and I miss you.
I miss the craziness and the constant moving around the city.
I miss weaving in and out of the crowds on the sidewalk.
I even miss the tourists asking for directions and getting lost in Times Square.
I miss Broadway so much that it hurts.
I miss going to a pub or rooftop to get drinks with friends.
I miss going for our weekly Sunday morning brunch at our favorite Upper West Side restaurant.
I miss the diverse cultures throughout the boroughs that were willing to teach me to say hello in 10 different languages.
I miss the delis and bodegas, especially my guys at the bodega across from my apartment (have a cheeseburger ready for me when I get back please!).
I even miss having to rely on the unreliable subway system to get anywhere.
I miss being able to just sit and relax in Central Park or any of the parks in the city to either read a book or have a picnic with friends.
I miss going to the corner pizza shop for $1 cheese pizza slice.
I miss my coffee shop where I can get my coffee for $2 and they know not only my order, but our entire office's order.
I miss walking around the city and feeling surrounded by the tall buildings and skyscrapers.
I miss the excitement of ABT's spring season at the Met or the opening of Broadway shows in preparation for the Tony Awards.
Most of all, I just miss being in the city where there is something for everyone.
I love you NYC, you are truly the greatest city in the world and we will come out of together and stronger than ever. Here's to hoping that I will see you on June 1.
