DIY Tie Dye Shirts

Like everyone else, I'm obsessed with the return of the Tie-Dye trend. While I haven't purchased many items in tie-dye yet, I loved creating my own tie-dye shirts. When I realized that the tie-dye trend was here to stay for a while, I knew I needed to take a trip down to Michael's to get a kit to create my own shirts.

Disney Animated Movie Challenge: Part IX

And we're back back back, back again. Honestly, I don't know what is taking me so long to complete these parts of the challenge, but truthfully it's most likely just procrastination at its best. I feel like once we got out of the Renaissance Era of the films, there's been a lull in the films to watch and none of them really get me as excited, until we get to the 2010's era of films. Anyways this film has a few films that I love and everyone loved growing up, so here are my thoughts on the next seven films of this challenge.

Pink Lily Boutique - June 2020 Haul

Hey y'all! Can you believe we're almost halfway through 2020. This has to be the craziest and longest year to date so far. During this quarantine time, I wanted to be able to support as much small business as possible, choosing to get take out at local restaurants and my family shopping for local produce for meals. Trying to shop small business for clothes has also been on the top of my list.

I've been following Pink Lily on Instagram for a while and even used them to get some Christmas presents this year, so I was excited to finally give myself the opportunity to purchase a few things that can be worn throughout the year.

Friday Finds June 19

Happy Friday y'all. I'm so excited to announce that this week I was able to hit a short term goal by being accepted into the LikeToKnowIt program, which means that you can now show my outfits through the app. I'm still trying to figure out how to connect my LikeToKnowIt page to the blog, but check out my Instagram highlight page to learn how the app works.

TJ Maxx Haul - June 2020

Hey y'all. One of the places that I was most excited about reopening down here was TJ Maxx. I've read rumors that they are currently overstocked and having crazy sales to get all their old inventory out and prepare for the new inventory coming in. I can confirm that these rumors are true. All the items that I purchased when I went a few weeks ago were at such a great steal and are so versatile to use throughout the summer and even throughout the year.

Weekly Roundup June 14

Hey y'all! This week has been pretty much a normal week for me with work so not much really happened. Whenever I wasn't at work, I was watching Scooby Doo on HBO Max or learning Tik Tok dances. I was driving over to Dunkin Donuts yesterday and made the observation that everything is starting to look normal again which is crazy to think when the owner of the restaurant just had a funeral yesterday for his father-in-law who passed due to COVID-19 complications. It's just a reminder that even though the media isn't talk about it as much, the pandemic is still happening.

Abercrombie Haul - June 2020

Hey y'all! So Abercrombie was a retailer that I kinda kept pushing to the back of my mind growing up and kept forgetting about choosing to shop at American Eagle and Hollister instead, but a few months ago I noticed that everyone was posting pictures in this cute flannel from Abercrombie. I decided to purchase it and a pair of jeans and fell in love with their quality.

Black Lives Matter - What I've Done to Educate Myself

Artwork by @ohhappydani, shop her prints here

These past two weeks seems like it's been two months, but the focus the past week has been life changing. When I first decided to mute my Instagram and blog, it was originally going to just be for #blackouttuesday, but once Wednesday rolled around, it didn't seem like the right time to start posting regular content again. Honestly, it feels weird to even be doing it today, but it's time to start working towards a new normal. We just found a new normal through COVID-19, but this new normal is just as important.

Friday Finds June 5

Hey Y'all! This weeks Friday Finds is going to be a little different. I've been spending most of. the past week only posting on Instagram stories things we need to do to educate ourselves on what's going on with our country today. While, there's still plenty to still learn, I've learned so much and even had a short conversation with one of the cooks yesterday on what I've learned so far.

For this weeks Friday Finds, I wanted to highlight a black-owned boutique in Charleston, South Carolina, The Tiny Tassel that has the cutest colorful clothes and accessories. These were my favorite finds from her online shop.
