Target Haul - July 2020

Can y'all believe we're about halfway through Summer? I don't know about you, but I just felt like we started getting into the summer vibes. When I first come down to Louisiana to wait out COVID-19 with my family, I only expected to be here for a month or two, but here we are four, almost five months later hoping to finally get back to NYC around Labor Day. Because I only planned to be down here for a month or two, I didn't pack anything for the summer weather and knew I needed to stock up on a few summer staple items.

Target is always the first place I think of when need staple items and they were no exception when I went last month. I somehow always walk out with too many graphic tees and always try out new trends because of their affordable styles. Everything I'm posting here is also linked in my LikeToKnowIt profile so be sure to follow me on the app.

The main reason why I went to Target when I did for this haul was to get a basic graphic tee for July Fourth. I knew that I probably wouldn't be doing anything big this year because of the rising cases across the state, but I still wanted to dress up for it. This graphic tee caught my eye as soon as I walked into the tees section because of the simplicity of it. The best part about this shirt is that it's only $10 and can be worn throughout the whole year, instead of saving it just for the Fourth of July.

I love that all the 90's trends are coming back, especially the tie dye trend. I've been seeing a lot of overalls being shared across my Instagram feed and I have to be honest, I've never been the biggest fan of them, even when I was a kid. However, one of the things I want this blog to do for me personally is push me out of my comfort zone and try new to me trends and target was the best place to find affordable overalls to see if I would like them. While I'm still borderline on the trend, I do like these overalls a lot, especially the oversized feel of them. I am one who loves to be comfortable while also looking stylish. The acid wash gives it a more relaxed feel too while also giving me the option to wear different patterns and colors for the shirt under them. These overalls are currently available for $28.

If you've been following me on Instagram, you know that while I may be late on the leopard trend, I am 100% here for it. I've been buying leopard from every retailer it feels like and Target has no shortage for cute leopard items. I've been seeing these leopard shorts around my Instagram feed too and knew that I needed to look out for them when wandering around the store. Lucky for me, I was able to snatch the last pair in the store that were also in my size. The style of these shorts are also my second favorite type of shorts, after denim shorts, with the high waist paper bag tie style. While I paired these with a black top for a simple look, I wore them the other day with my white button-down Amazon tank to drop of smoothies to my coworkers while also picking up my check on a day off and they said it made the outfit look like a brand new outfit, so the pairings with these shorts are endless. They are currently available for $17.99.

I also got these heels from Target because I didn't pack any with me. I love the block heel look because they keep a look simple while also bringing enough comfort and support for wearing for a long period of time. These heels are a staple look that will never go out of option and if you want to have a pair without breaking the bank, Target is definitely the place to get them. They come in many different color and pattern options and the heels are high enough for a dressed up look, but low enough for comfort. They are currently available for $29.99

We all know that Target is the go to place for graphic tees and they have never disappointed. They had a lot of new options when I went in, but these two shirts stood out to me the most. First up is this Hogwarts graphic tee. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, growing up reading the books and seeing the movies when they came out in theaters. I have previously purchased one or two Harry Potter shirts from Target before and even have the shirt from the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child play, but I loved that this shirt focused on Hogwarts itself instead of a certain part of the series. Whenever I look at this shirt, I'm reminded of the quote, "Hogwarts is my home", which I feel agrees with a lot of us who grew up with the series.

The second shirt I snagged was this Beatles graphic tee. I grew up listening to the Beatles with my dad playing their greatest hits CD in the car whenever he took my brother and I to school and they're probably the first band that I liked from the 60's, 70's, and 80's era that gets grouped together a lot. Now I listen to that music whenever I'm getting ready in the morning. I loved the vintage look of the graphic design and how all the members of the band are included on it, even though most people only think of John Lennon and Paul McCartney when they think of the band. Both of these shirts are available for $12.
