Favorite Items Purchased in 2020

After having the month of March last for at least a year, I am glad that we are finally in 2021! I can't believe that LSU won the National Championship in the same year as COVID-19, but it's true. This was the year of the comfy clothes and not leaving the house and my favorite purchases of 2020 basically reflect that.

Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

I have been seeing the Spanx Faux Leather Leggings around for at least two years now and when I tell you I was determined to snag them in the Nordstrom Sale this year, I mean I had a whole plan set up to buy what I wanted while sitting in the parking lot at work. I'm obsessed with these leggings and they are so worth the price. The quality is so good and I know that they'll last a few years. Because I pretty much lounge around the house before work, either working on blog posts or reading books, I wear these pretty often.

I've also recently gotten the Aerie Offline version of the faux leather leggings. I've been wearing these a lot too, the only major difference is that they aren't as thick and they have more seams than the Spanx leggings. If like most of us, we don't want to pay full price for the Spanx pair, these are a more affordable option.

Amazon Round Rattan Bag

I've been eyeing this bag for a while and when I received an Amazon gift card back in April, I knew this was going to be the first thing I would snag to have a smaller bag for day to day use during the spring and summer months. I loved it so much that I bought two versions of it, a plain one and one with a design on the front of it. While it is small, it's perfect to hold all the necessities needed to run out of the house quickly, wallet, keys, phone and sunglasses.

Tarte Shape Tape

This concealer has been a life saver. We all have those nights where we struggle to sleep or if you're like me, staying up way too late reading a book. Then we suffer the consequence of having dark circles and sometimes puffy eyes and that's when this product comes in. The Tarte Shape Tape is like a magical wand that covers all the dark circles and makes you're eyes look brighter. It also lasts throughout the entire day, which is a bonus for my twelve hour shift days. It's available in so many different shades to make it work with any skin tone and Tarte is currently having an insane deal where you can get 3 full bottles + a free bag for $49.

Salina Birkenstocks

Okay so these were technically received as a gift and not a purchase, but let me tell you about these sandals. For years, I have had zero interest in Birkenstocks, especially owning a pair, but when I was offered a pair as a gift, I decided to give them a try. I have definitely changed my mind on these shoes and probably wear these more than any other shoes I own right now. They are so comfortable and when you first get them, you get the chance to break them in to mold around your foot so you're not sliding in them. While this color is no longer available, Nordstrom has this pair available in black and the Birkenstock website has them available in three colors.

Abercrombie Mom Jeans

These mom jeans are probably my most worn pair of denim this year. After loving the mom shorts I got this summer, I knew I had to try them as jeans. I'm also obsessed with all my denim from Abercrombie and the quality did not disappoint. These were y'all favorite pair of jeans when I was doing the Denim Roundup, and I'm not kidding when I say if there's any pair of distressed mom jeans to purchase, this is them. These are currently part of the Buy One, Get One 50% off sale.

Target Flannel Shirt

Y'all know how much I love my Abercrombie flannels, but when I saw the Target flannel floating around Instagram, I had to check them out. It's a true flannel fabric and only $20. Target wins again with me and I'm obsessed. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew I wouldn't have anywhere to wear them, I wouldn't bought them in all the colors my store had 😂. Flannels are a great transitional item from winter to spring as you can tie them around your waist with a sweater dress or t-shirt dress.

Abercrombie Faux Leather Full Zip Sherpa

If you've been following me on Instagram, you know that I'm obsessed with all things sherpas also. This sherpa is by far the softest sherpa in my closet and I'm obsessed with this olive color. At first I wasn't the biggest fan of it on the website, but it was the only one available in my size and the color is so much prettier in person. While the olive color isn't available anymore, they still have a few sizes left in the white and grey colors and the leopard print is currently on clearance.

Abercrombie Mom Jean Shorts

You know I couldn't talk about these shorts with another item and not include it on my list. These are hands down my favorite pair of denim shorts and started my obsession on the mom jean style. I love how loose they are around the thighs so I'm not constantly pulling at them and the deep back pockets fit my phone without fear of falling out. These pair are currently on clearance for $13 and it's never too early to stock up for the warmer weather coming in the next few months.

Lululemon Align Leggings

We got a Lululemon pop up shop in my hometown over the summer and like most people I said I would never spend $100 on a pair of leggings. Well then I found out about the We made too much sale they do throughout the year, and I decided to try out a pair of leggings and a top. After liking the pair of leggings I got and convincing myself that if I was willing to spend the money on the Spanx faux leather leggings, I found myself inside said pop up shop spending $100 on a pair of leggings. But let me tell y'all, the Lululemon Align Leggings are everything that I've been told they are. They feel buttery smooth and they are lightless when wearing them. I want to buy them in every color now. With that said, I know that not everyone can afford to spend that kind of money on leggings, nor want to, and so this year I'm excited to purchase a pair off Amazon that people have been raving about and try them out for y'all .

Aerie Biker Shorts

2020 was really the year that I decided to push myself out of my comfort zone and try out new trends that I didn't think I would like. Biker shorts are one of them and let me say I've been converted. I decided to try out the Aerie brand first because I also wanted to try out their active wear and I love them so much that not only do I wear them during the day, I sometimes sleep in them too. They're so soft and comfortable that I'm definitely going to buy more and more of these. In fact I've already gotten the Lululemon Align version of biker shorts.
